1. Are there enough details when simply describing the place?

a. I describe the place but not in great detail, so I could elaborate on the description of the place throughout my story.

2. How do you establish yourself as credible as an authority worth listening to?

a. My story starts with me performing on this stage for the very first time and how I recall sitting in the audience as a child and have developed to this perform here. Throughout the story I gain credibility the more I continue to perform on the stage.

3. How do you move the discussion of a place into a new and unique area? Is it the same ol same ol.

a. Since I perform on the stage different years and with many different people I feel that it’s the people that make the place new and unique each time I revisit it throughout the story.

4. What do we need to know about the intended audience?

a. The audience is broad. This is mainly a story that reflects on my time in this place and I feel that the moments that I have to share can be relatable to anyone who has a place with very personal, emotional memories like this one.

5. What values do you assume your readers have? How are you tapping into it with your place?

a. I hope that my readers would have a sense of nostalgia within them. The audience ideally should be able to appreciate the past events in their life and recognize how fast time flies. I assume they also understand how a place can be special enough to develop a person.

Defining Moments

The one childhood instance—good or bad—that indelibly affects who this

character is now: Going to the Benedum theater as a young child and watching the performers knowing she would love to do that too one day. Or Her very first dance recital, age 3, going up on stage and her personality unfolds, highly energetic, enjoys performing in front of large crowds, having a personality for the stage.

The character’s proudest moment: Being nominated for 10 Kelly’s and winning 6 (a school

record) twice during her duration of High School and being part of school history.

The character’s most embarrassing moment: During her senior year show, she had a very rapid

quick change (with poor quick-change artists) that also required a wig for the following

scene. For the final dress rehearsal/senior citizen night, she went out on stage for her scene missing one shoe, skirt backwards and her wig came off during her exit.

The character’s career goals of future aspirations/ambitions: Retiring from the stage, she now

wants to pursue finance and then move onto law school, hopefully entering coporate or

entertainment law.

Whom the character would most like to have dinner with (past or present)

and why: Frank Sinatra because he is an amazing artist and she had the biggest crush on him

when she was 7 (and kinda still does now). Or Gene Kelly because he is a major influence in her dance career and one of her favorite actors in her favorite movies. Additionally, he is from her hometown of Pittsburgh and she feels that they would get along well.

Three adjectives the character would use to describe him/herself:

1. Energetic

2. Optimistic

3. Caring (mom-like?)
