S-TOWN

1. Brian Reed is a reporter/investigator from a New York based radio station.

2. John B. McLenmore is from Woodstock, Alabama. He lives there with his old age mother who has Alzheimer's. He runs a humane society of his own with several dogs. He is angry with the amount of corruption that occurs in his town.

3. Brian goes to S-town to investigate a murder committed by the son of a wealthy lumber mill owner as well as the police corruption there in regards to the sexual violence committed on several women by a police officer.

4. The entirety of the first chapter occurs over a couple years. In fact, John had sent several emails to the radio station before convincing Brian to visit Woodstock. Throughout the chapter there are several flashbacks that occur when recounting events.
