1. Ysrael is "famous" because he always wears a mask (it is rumored his face was eaten off by a pig as a baby)and so people are curious to figure out what is behind the mask.

2. Yunior and Rafa are sent to the countryside to live with their uncle in the summer because their mother works in a chocolate factory, otherwise they live in Santo Domingo with their mother.

3. While they are brothers they are very jealous of one another. This is seen when the father sends one of the boys a kite but not the other. Out of jealousy the one brother hits the other one over the head with a glass bottle.
